Palliative care & Pain Management

Palliative care is the medical care with an aim to improve mobility and ability to carry out basic regular activities for people with serious illnesses, irrespective of the severity or the stage of the illness. The objective is to help the patient relieve symptoms and manage pain, and also provide support for the family.  Palliative care is provided parallelly along with the recommended curative treatments and is not restricted to end-of-life care.

Pain management revolves around various strategies to manage and control pain, and ensure the illness is not an impediment for the patients’ day to day activities. 

It involves a combination of medications, physical therapies, psychological approaches, and lifestyle adjustments. Effective pain management is crucial factor for individuals undergoing pain both acute and chronic conditions
